Retail trade turnover exceeded 381 billion rubles in Tatarstan in January-April 2022. It is 99.4% compared to prices for the same period last year.

According to the statistics service of Tatarstan, retail trade turnover in the first four months of 2021 was valued at 332 billion rubles. It therefore increased by 13.1%.

Non-food products account for a large share — 221.4 billion rubles, or 55.4%. Compared to January-April 2022, the turnover of non-food retail trade in Tatarstan increased by 11.1%.

Food, including beverages and tobacco products, accounted for 170.3 billion rubles, or 44.6%, of retail trade turnover. Compared to January-April of last year, the number increased by 14.5%.

Deputy Prime Minister of the republic and Minister of Economy of Tatarstan Midkhat Shagiakhmetov said that the retail trade turnover in the republic in April 2022 decreased by 10% compared to last year. This happened due to a decline in mostly foreign-sourced non-food items, he explained. These include the sale of cars and spare parts, clothing, footwear, pharmaceuticals, household appliances and smartphones.

According to the statistics service of Tatarstan, the retail trade turnover in April was valued at 95 billion rubles. Compared to the same month in 2021, it increased by 8.5%. According to data from the statistics service, in the first four months of last year, the turnover of retail trade was 87 billion rubles.

Realnoe Vremya wrote that in the first quarter of 2022 the retail trade turnover in Tatarstan amounted to 286.6 billion rubles. Compared to the same period last year, it increased by almost 15%.

It is worth recalling that in 2021, the retail trade turnover in Tatarstan reached 1,086 trillion rubles. This is 7.8% more than in 2020. Food, beverages and tobacco cost 464.8 billion rubles of this amount. Non-food products held more than 621 billion rubles.
